Summer Music Tuition Scheme
During the summer term we have a number of pupils on exam study leave resulting in some vacancies for instrumental tuition. The Music School are in a position to offer these trial lessons from the beginning of study leave to the end of the summer term without the normal ‘notice to stop’ conditions applying at the end of the term. Our hope, of course, is that your child will wish to continue afterwards.
Trial lessons are available on most instruments. We also have a limited number of instruments to hire for this period of time. If you would like to hire one of these, subject to availability, please state this on the application form.

If you would like to take this opportunity to try out an instrument, please complete the attached application form as soon as possible. You will only be charged from when you receive your first lesson until the end of the summer term. Should you decide you want to continue with this instrument on a more permanent basis, then you will need to inform the Music School in writing before the end of June. Please address your correspondence on this matter to Miss Marshall, Music Manager.

Open Lessons
We will no longer be operating Open Weeks which used to take place in March and October. The reason is to give more flexibility to parents to observe their child's lessons; we often found that receiving confirmations the week before did not give adequate time to book annual leave etc.
The new system will require parents who wish to observe a lesson to complete a short form indicating their availability and contact details; the Individual Music Teacher will then do their best to accommodate the request and will confirm the date/ time of the open lesson. Parents can attend a maximum of two lessons per academic year. The forms are available at the Music School reception.
